All aspects of the Force 10 system have been tested to an extensive degree and certified by many authorities including the foremost authority in Australia C.S.I.R.O. (Commonwealth Scientific and Industrial Research Organisation). In addition, each building is certified by a Structural Engineer for the relevant wind and earthquake loading.

Fire & Water Resistance

Zincalume G550 Hi –Tensile Steel is at the heart of every Force 10 home. Our steel panel is faced with an extremely durable fibre cement board and is injected with fire retardant, Polyurethane insulation to build the basic structure. All of the fundamental elements of a Force 10 structure are non-combustible or fire resistant and make our homes some of the safest structures available in the world. In addition, the fibre cement board is resistant to water and even after 2 to 3 days immersion its structural integrity is unaffected.

 

Cyclonic & Earthquake Resistance

Up to 60% of Force 10 homes are in climatic high-risk areas. Over 20 years we have not had major damage to a single home while many adjacent homes have suffered major structural damage or been totally destroyed by cyclones.

The system requires that each wall panel be tied down at 1metre centres by very strong and robust fittings such that the roof is “anchored” through the roof trusses, wall studs, bearers, joists and stumps to the ground.

In addition, the whole building is bolted together so securely that it cannot fall apart even in an intense earthquake.

Borer Resistance With Complete Protection Against Termites

The Force 10 Floor, Wall and Roof truss systems use Zincalume G550 Hi – Tensile Steel which is 100% termite and borer proof.

Because of this, the frames don’t require additional chemical treatments to protect them from pest attack. The use of steel as the base framing is recognised both here and overseas as a healthy home alternative for people suffering from asthma.

 

Ease of Construction With a Minimum of Skilled Labour

The system is designed on precise engineering, careful, systematic planning and factory manufacture so that the work “on-site” is minimal and requires much less skill than conventional building.

• A Force 10 home does not come with the option of insulation it comes with a factory fitted, world class, insulation system integrated with the wall panel.
• This achieves an impressive R value of 3.5 and by the addition of insulated ceiling batts into the roof cavity R4.1 can be achieved.
• We have achieved up to an overall energy rating of 9 stars. This means less costly cooling or heating expenditure for you and less impact on the environment.
• Steel is 100% recyclable and up to 85% of steel used in building construction is ultimately recycled which means it doesn’t take up landfill space.
• Our system obviates the need to use concrete at the construction site meaning there is less disturbance to the local ecology and habitat and because we manufacture off site with little or no wastage there is almost no site waste produced to leech into the local habitat.
